Swedish metal Volvo automobile announced last month that its luxury and performance line Polestar will soon be a separate entity on its own and thus would focus on producing high-performance electric models. A perfect rendition of the model is shown in new leaks.
However, latest trend has it that Polestar new independently-produced model will be a 600-horsepower coupe. You may liken this scenario to Toyota and Lexus; Nissan and Infiniti, Honda and Acura, etc.
The new coupe would reportedly feature a hybrid powertrain and lots of carbon fiber.
Apart from the coupe, Polestar will also consider making other models afterwards. “Polestar will enjoy specific technological and engineering synergies with Volvo Cars and benefit from significant economies of scale as a result of its connection to Volvo,” the automaker said in a statement. “These synergies will allow it to design, develop and build world-beating electrified high-performance cars.”
