Tesla has announced its new fleet of vehicles including the new Roadster supercar, a semi-truck and a full-size haulage truck, all running purely on electric motors. But the focus for now is on the Roadster which is mind-blowing.
Elon Musk unveiled the three vehicles earlier with a highlight on the new supercar. The cutting-edge designs, the aerodynamics, the mile range and the ride comfort are top notch.
The kick-ass Roadster will debut in 2020 and would be the quickest production car ever made, and a bonus to it is that it would be fully electric. No smokes, no emissions.
When it eventually goes into mass production, it would ship with a capacity of reaching 0-100km/hr in just 1.9 seconds. That's faster than a Bugatti Chiron or a Koenigsegg Agera RS.
It would be powered by 200kWh battery cells located just under the body of the vehicle and the powertrain would be an all-wheel drive system. A 4-seater vehicle, it packs more advantage over a Bugatti with 2-seating capacity. Also, the roof is made to open half-way, giving a feel of the atmosphere outside, while rocking a sweet, smooth ride.
The Tesla Roadster will reportedly have a range of almost 1,000km (620 miles) on a single charge. Asking price is a whopping $250,000. However, there are pre-orders available but only with a $50,000 initial deposit, and would get their units respectively in 2020.
