The media may be hot and trending with the latest of automobiles but the vintage spirit of motoring is still in vogue and always will be preserved. So this 1979 sports version GelandeWagen surfaced on net and the pictures prove it was actually real and did exist.
The very rare and never-seen shots appeared lately. It is reported to be most awkward factory-approved conversion model in 1979 when the production of the first G-Wagen began at Steyr-Daimler-Puch in Austria.
The conversion was reportedly done by AMG. The special S-Class type headlamps replaced the old-fashioned and regular rounded G-lamp with a gold gem grille. The interior is styled with lovely tropical-type maroon-red leather trims exuding very colourful and lovely aesthetics. With rooftop overhead lamps and special-type tyres, this warrior is ever-ready for offroad challenge.
