This awe-inspiring SUV is the latest from Lamborghini in its quest to deliver the same power and luxury of a sports car to a luxury world-best SUV. Currently, the URUS SUV is tagged as the best SUV in its class. It's not surprising considering the time, effort and careful considerations Lamborghini must have put into its production.
The URUS is a contender to the Bentley Bentayga and the Porsche Cayenne as well as others in its segment. Already, rumour mill has it that Rolls-Royce plans on introducing its Cullinan SUV.
If you have noticed, the design and styling of the URUS SUV takes inspiration from the company's sports car models Gallardo and Aventador - look at the headlights and the taillights. However, the addition of rear seats and the spacious trunk is a welcome development. One would have thought that as a supercar company, the SUV would be a coupe.
It's powerful enough to deliver speed at its best. Under the hood is a 4.0-litre V8 twin-turbo engine producing 650-horsepower. Acceleration from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/hr) is just in 3.6 seconds. Reportedly, it will have a top speed of 190 mph (that is about 305 km/hr). Offroad capability is also included.
Expected sales of the URUS will begin with a price tag of $200,000 for the base level trim. Premium trims would cost higher of course, but not as expensive as Mercedes-AMG G-series which cost higher. So buying the URUS might just be a good option at that price.
